Hello, My name is Debbie Gunnion and I am a teddy bear artist living on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. I love creating miniature handmade collectable bears. I have been making bears for some years now and in 2005 moved into making minis. Being a self proclaimed perfectionist, each bear is made with love, thought and attention to detail and craftsmanship. I use a variety of fabrics including mini plush, vintage rayon's and upholstery fabric (long pile when I can get it) and my favourite (at the moment), mini 'cashmere'. I just love the soft, cuddly feeling you get when you rub it on your face! Foot and paw pads are from a variety of different fabrics. I choose to string joint my creations because I love the way it enables me to 'squish' their little bodies together. I use teeny, tiny glass beads for eyes and scissor and needle sculpt their faces to create little personalities. More often than not my bears will come with a little handcrafted friend made from polymer clay.
